What rush and expedite machining means
Rush machining is the same precision machining we always do, scheduled ahead of normal work. An expedite may mean running a job on second shift, moving it to an open machine, simplifying fixturing, or pulling material from stock instead of ordering. What it does not mean is skipping inspection or cutting corners on the drawing. Every rush part is inspected to the same standard as a scheduled part.

- Same-day review. An estimator checks material availability, machine openings, and any outside processing needed.
- Honest commitment. We quote a ship date we believe we can meet. If we cannot meet your date, we say so.
- Schedule and run. The job is scheduled on the most suitable open machine, and second-shift capacity is used when it helps.

Wexmar machines available for rush work
Having many machines on one floor is what makes expediting possible. Rush turned parts can run on any of ten CNC lathes: Mazak Nexus QT200 (two), Nexus 250, Nexus 100-II, 200 MS, Multiplex 6300Y, and Nexus 450-II, Doosan Lynx 2100A (two), and a Boss 552, all with live tooling and Y-axis. Small parts to 32 mm diameter can run on four Maier MLK-32 Swiss machines. Milled parts run on six Mazak horizontal machining centers with pallet changers, which let a rush job be loaded on a pallet without tearing down the setup on another. See the machine list.
Typical tolerances on rush parts
Rush parts are held to the same typical capability as scheduled work: ±0.001 inch on turned diameters, ±0.0005 inch on Swiss diameters, ±0.005 inch on general milled dimensions with ±0.001 inch by review, and 63 Ra standard finishes with 32 Ra available.
Materials
We machine carbon and alloy steels, 300-series, 400-series, and PH stainless, Nitronic 50, Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, titanium, and engineered plastics. For rush work, we will tell you if an equivalent, readily available material might be worth asking your engineer about, but we never substitute without approval.
Quantity fit
Rush machining fits single replacement parts, small lots to cover a gap, and partial shipments of a larger order to keep your line running while the balance follows on a standard schedule.
Inspection deliverables
Rush parts receive the same inspection as any Wexmar part, verified on Brown & Sharpe CMMs, the Mitsubishi optical comparator, and calibrated gages as the print requires. CMM reports, material certifications, and AS9102-format first articles are available. When an expedite requires overtime or displaces scheduled work, any added cost is shown on the quote before you order.
