How Wexmar would machine this

Based on the notice title and classification, Wexmar would plan this work around 3- and 4-axis horizontal milling on Mazak HMCs with pallet changers, which lets several faces be machined in one clamping and holds feature-to-feature position. Every lot is inspected against the drawing on Brown & Sharpe CMMs. The notice references first article requirements, and Wexmar prepares first article inspection reports with full dimensional results for approval before production.

Equipment on the floor

  • Turning: 10 Mazak and Doosan CNC lathes with live tooling
  • Horizontal milling: 6 Mazak horizontal machining centers, 3- and 4-axis, with pallet changers
  • Swiss: 4 Maier Swiss-type lathes, bar capacity to 32 mm
  • Grinding: centerless and surface grinding
  • Inspection: 2 Brown & Sharpe coordinate measuring machines

Materials

The notice text references aluminum. Wexmar machines carbon and alloy steels, stainless steels including precipitation-hardening grades, Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy, aluminum, brass, bronze, titanium, and engineering plastics, and buys bar and plate with mill certifications.
